El Salvadorian food isn’t for the lighthearted, and this non-English speaking location over in East Dallas serves up a heaping plate of pupas yucca and plantains that will satisfy the heartiest of appetites. Definitely not fancy, but definitely welcoming (contrary to many Yelp reviews bringing down their rating), this is my favorite Salvadorian food in DFW so far. Before you go, however, realize that their English really is quite non-existent and the crowd isn’t who is at Mi Concina. If this appeals to you, and it does to me, then smile, try your even rudimentary Spanish and enjoy some terrific food for not a lot of money. Make sure you try the green peppers on top (ask if not brought to your table) and green salsa. Afterwards, make sure you have time for a power nap!
